Ms. Vuong joined the Dallas Independent School District (DISD) in 2016 as a Math Campus Instructional Coach at Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in Dallas, Texas. Formerly a mathematics at John Marshall High School in Cleveland, Ohio, and a College Associate Professor at Richland College (Dallas County Community College), she was well-known for her effectiveness in helping her students gain content mastery in mathematics by engaging them through discovery learning, and by incorporating technology in the classroom to provide a variety of alternatives for student achievement.  In 2018, she was awarded a Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching fellowship to Singapore, sponsored by the United States Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. During her stint in Singapore, Ms. Vuong will conduct an inquiry project on the mathematics curriculum. The purpose of her project is to improve the quality of mathematical instruction in problem-solving and to close the achievement gap in the students’ mathematical curriculum essential knowledge and skills in low performance schools in the United States.
